Don't quite know where to begin with Tonka. She is our 9 y/o matron female and quite honestly, she is the smartest and most giving dog that we have ever seen. She has always given 100% to anything that she has done be it hog catching, personal protection, raising pups, or simply being a great companion. Tonka is what the American Bulldog is all about. She is fearless, intelligent, friendly, alert, athletic, and funny. Tonka has been known as the "baby sitter" dog because she really likes children and will herd them around and put up with all of their antics. She is a great working dog as well. She has been a great catch dog (WB I) and took right to it her first time and every time since. She is the type dog that never forgets her commands and will respond to them in English, German, and even with hand signals. Tonka is mostly Johnson bred with Leclerc and Lana Lou Lane outcrosses. She is small and compact with lots of wind and drive. While she is very stable and non aggressive; she is dominant and demands the respect of the other dogs and they know it. Tonka is truly a once in a life time dog who will always be remembered for her loving temperament, superior intelligence and giving nature. She is now enjoying her life as "Couch Queen."
